Do not take out a second mortgage on your house to pay for the ring. I think it is in your price range, just go and take a look at it and find out how much it is. If you do have this much money to spend. . . Can I make a suggestion? Take your honey on a nice cruise to St. Thomas. Down there you can purchase a ring at a fraction of the cost. For example my engagement ring would have been $2500 in cardow in NYC but in St. Thomas we paid $550 for it. You can get a much bigger ring for the same price and quality since they are the same stores down there (Zales etc. ) they just have great prices in fine jewelery, and you can take her on a beautiful vacation and propose to her on the beach. There are some great titanium rings out there with diamonds already set in.

A ring that is not designed to have diamonds or any stone put into it would have to be melted down and remolded into something able to hold a stone.

And, most jewelry stores don’t do engraving, it takes a special machine to engrave inside rings, and not all places have it.
I think that your best bet would be to try and find a titanium ring that already has a stone you like in it. Otherwise, see if there are any jewelers in your area who could custom make a ring for you. Or, maybe that same person could melt the ring down and add your stone.

In my opinion, you shouldn’t put a minimum price limit on a ring. I’d just look at all the ruby/diamond rings I could, and choose whatever one really calls to me (as long as it’s affordable).
For example: When my now hubby went to buy me an engagement ring, the sky was the limit really (ok, maybe more like $10,000). He knew it had to be a claddagh (traditional Irish wedding ring), and he knew I liked emeralds, but didn’t like diamonds.

So, he went searching for claddaghs with an emerald in the midle for the heart.

As it turns out, he found the most amazing, beautiful, antique ring an an estate sale. He felt bad about it though because it only costs him $40. Yes, $40. To this day though, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a more beautiful claddagh in my life.

It’s perfect.

We both know he could have spent a fortune on some big diamond for me, but I’m glad he knows me well enough to know that a $40 ring was just the ticket:)

Well, since you have a choice I would go with the solitaire. Personally, I think the 3 stone rings are waaay too common and they remind me of the cheap, cheesy jewelry on the commercials. I think the solitaire is more classy. You could get a really fancy band with a solitaire as well which I think looks nice.

To my opinion one solitaire diamond is nicer for you and make much more impression.

If you want to save money, buy loose diamond and give to your jeweler to set it in the ring. When you buy at the jewelery store you pay to few middle men that make big money on the diamond.

otherwise, three stones diamond ring is also a good choice!

If you love both rings equally, I would choose the one that has the better clarity and color of diamond/s.

Pink Sapphires are much less expensive than pink diamonds, and you have more selection of the range of pink you can choose. I have also heard that most pink diamonds are artificially coloured, so they aren’t really natural stones. Pink sapphires on the other hand are natural. So a ring with pink sapphires might be a better alternative.

i doubt you can get one for $1500, but depending on the size you may be able to. colored diamonds have a different grading system than white diamonds, they don’t pay as much attention to inclusions or the way they are cut because they want to maximize size and color. If you are willing to take a very light pink diamond it will be cheaper, the more vivid the color the more expensive it will get. a setting in rose gold will make it look more colorful. if you prefer the pink over the diamond then a pink sapphire might be a good alternative for you. it would be much cheaper and sapphires are very durable, a 9 on the scale where a diamond is 10, and you could get a stronger color for your money. you will have to look around and see.

That is a little tough, if you could possibly get a sitter it would be nice, but if not. Order in a wonderful dinner from a gourmet shop that cooks great food, have it delivered. Then when your child is asleep, light some candles in the living room, buy a bottle of champagne, chill it, have two lovely champagne glasses ready and cold in the refrigerator. put some soft music on. First make a toast, then serve dinner and then while she is eating dessert, place a beautifully wrapped box in front of her and wish her a happy anniversary and tell her you love her very much and top the evening off with romance.

Would your parents or hers let your kid spend the night? If so, while she’s out, prepare a surprise dinner.

You don’t have to be a wonderful cook now-a-days to present a nice meal. Make sure that the lights are out when she comes in, and that you’re standing in the candle-lit kitchen or dining room, wearing your best clothes. Be sure to have the table set nicely i. E. Best dinnerware, folded napkins, etc. Fill a small vase with a few rose, and around the base scatter rose petals, and of course there are the candles.

The leather should be able to handle it depending on what type of leather it is. The cashmere lining could get torn up though.
When I wear my diamond out, I put on a pair of those $1. 99 stretch gloves so I do not have to worry about it if it ruins the glove. On top of that you can get those gloves in a variety of colors and prints so you can mix and match them with different coats and outfits.

In large sizes ( ie: 1/2ct and larger ), this is not something you are going to find in a Zales or other chain store.
A little education, Natural Pink Diamonds are Extremely RARE. . . .
A 2 carat Natural Pink Diamond ( I1-SI2 Clarity ), on the wholesale trade, be prepared to pay around $400,000 US Dollars and up. . .
Now, as of earlier this year, they have now developed a stable process for “treated” Pink Diamonds. . . Meaning they are irradiated/heated to be pink. . .

But very few jewelrs are dealing with them and they still demand around $10,000+ per stone.

Your best bet is going to be an independent jeweler – even a chain like Tiffany’s is going to have trouble finding what you want, in a timely manner. 2 carat natural pinks are out there, but as you know they are pricey, and take a bit of research to find.
I would recommend finding a local, AGS affiliated jeweler near you, and going into the store directly. Ask for one of their certified diamond sellers, and tel them exactly what you want. 2 carats, natural pink, and your price range. They’ll tell you if it can be done in your price range, and then go out and find the stone for you. Please allow them adequate time to find it – it may be days, or it may take a month!

what does grade 5 mean? I only know grades for diamonds in regards to the color and clarity which is something anyone would need to know if they wanted to estimate some sort of value for your ring.

I think you’ll need to tell us a little more about the diamond for us to help you out. A 1. 52-carat round diamond can range in price from $2,200 to $44,000. (I pulled those numbers from a diamond search engine, Diamond Price Guru. )
Can you post the diamond’s shape? Are you certain it was “graded” a 5, or is that possibly just the ring size?
If you don’t have access to the diamond’s full information (clarity grade, color grade, cut grade), you might want to get it graded by a gem lab. (Even the top ones, like GIA, only charge $100 or so per carat. ) If you are thinking of selling it or buying insurance for it, they are likely to want to see the grades.

It maybe a little scary but for the money I save it was worth it. Had the ring re-appraised for insurance, I told him just to do replacement cost not to inflate it.

Not. . Really should be fine, I have some very good diamonds and I sometimes soak them overnight. . . . Get a real soft brush and brush slightly and rinse thoroughly effective while you are brushing. I know mine is fine to leave.

I firmly believe you should buy it from a reputable store because as far as if there are any problems with it, you will be charged a lot of money at a jeweler to fix it and there will go the savings you initially got when you purchased the ring. We bought my engagement and wedding band from a reputable place and I ended up not liking the setting after it was all done, they redid my ring totally free of charge and there was a lot of changes done to it. Also, if you buy the ring online, you never know what you will get until you receive it and then it ‘s paid for and you can’t return it if you don’t like it. As far as getting it cleaned. Buy one of those ultrasonic cleaners for $60. 00 and some ring cleaner (very cheap at Target) and that’s all you need to do. I clean my ring every single day and if you are buying platinum, you can easily do that without the settings ever coming loose. I highly suggest platinum to keep the diamond in it’s setting forever. Rarely will it come loose. Also, just some extra advice, a ring is a very personal thing to a woman, so hopefully you kind of know her style and what she likes.
